The Fisher's Net e-learning services support:

  • Learners and providers creating community. The Fisher's Net helps learners assess their needs, acquire resources and create opportunities for learning in community.
  • Knowledge management. Today's challenge is to access and control all of the information that's available. The Fisher's Net provides a structure for navigating through resources to help instructors and learners build a learning environment tailored to your needs.
  • Pedagogies for adult learners. The educational landscape is changing and technology plays a large role in making education learner-centered. The Fisher's Net helps instructors discern best practices for adult learners.
  • Technical infrastructure. The Fisher's Net provides the technical foundation for e-learning. Our infrastructure offers instructors and learners a reliable, secure environment for any time, any place learning.

Providers and learners share collaboratively in a distributive learning network. The result? Each person in The Fisher's Net e-learning network contributes knowledge and receives new insights and skills. Learners and providers form a new partnership of shared learning.

Here are the components of our e-learning services:

For learners:

  • Distributive courses:
The Fisher's Net hosts degree program, continuing education and lifelong learning courses offered by its network of church-related providers. Individual learners and learning groups are supported by The Fisher's Net to create a unique distributive learning environment.

For providers (institutions and organizations developing learning opportunities)

  • Strategic Planning:
The Fisher's Net offers strategic planning services to help you design a complete distributive learning program that reflects the needs and goals of your learners.

We will assess your organization's readiness to launch an e-learning program. Strategic planning addresses market analysis as well as program, instructor, and learner development.

  • Instructional Development:
The Fisher's Net provides consultation and training for instructors (mentors) as they develop understanding of technologies and pedagogies for online learning. This service helps you determine best practices for teaching and learning styles specific to your program of study and your learners. Most consultations and training can be achieved through distance communication, with occasional opportunities for face-to-face events.
  • Hosting:
The Fisher's Net provides servers with a continuous (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) high-bandwidth, redundant global network. We use the Blackboard® and Moodle course management systems to provide a secure environment that's easy to use. Your organization can develop programs of study hosted by The Fisher's Net. The individual learner can rely on our consistent service.
